About

Trey Andrade (b. 1987, Texas) is an American painter whose work explores how color shapes our memory of the natural world through representational drawing and painting. He holds a BFA from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and an MFA in Painting from the University of Delaware. His approach to color and painting was shaped by growing up and studying with his father, prominent Texas artist Bruno Andrade.

His current body of work explores the floral painting as a keepsake—a way of preserving the fleeting beauty of a gift for generations to come. Through a continual process of making, each painting becomes part of an ongoing cycle of observation, iteration, discovery, and development. Together, the works reflect an evolving exploration of color and its ability to evoke the beauty, atmosphere, and recollection of the world around us.

“You are wandering aimlessly through a forest.” - ADVENT 1977
